The History of Camp 40 Acres

Camp 40 Acres is a private, non-profit facility which was donated for the youth of Wilmington and the surrounding communities. For more than 50 years, the upkeep of the camp has been overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors, and income has come from donations and the minimal fees charged to the users of the facility. The money generated by this program will be used to upgrade the camp’s property, and insure its availability to local children well into the 21st century.

Since 2003, the Summer Adventure program has been run at Camp 40 Acres. A unique and exciting atmosphere is what the Summer Adventure staff strive for, and they are confident that no other camp is like this.
